Point of Interest:
The Fraser River Trail is a five-mile multi-use trail connecting Winter Park Resort and the towns of Winter Park and Fraser. This wide, flat trail is perfect for children, novice bikers and rollerbladers and those still getting acclimated to the elevation. Picnic tables are located along the trail from the Town of Winter Park to Winter Park Resort.
To go to Fraser:
From the Winter Park Visitor Center, cross U.S. Highway 40 and follow the sidewalk north until you reach the paved pathway. Just outside the town of Winter Park, you can remain on the paved pathway or you can cross U.S. Highway 40 at Cozens Ranch Museum to access the unpaved portion of the Fraser River Trail. This scenic gravel trail parallels the Fraser River. The willows adjacent to the trail are a favorite hangout for moose.
To go to Winter Park Resort:
From the Winter Park Visitor Center take the sidewalk south to the paved pathway. The trail follows the Fraser River through Idlewild Campground. Just past the campground, the trail goes under U.S. Highway 40. Remain on the pathway until you reach Trademark Condominiums. From here, follow the signs to Winter Park Resort.

Operating Hours & Seasons
Rocky National Park is open 24 hours a day year round. Visitors can enter or exit at any time. If they are planning to stay overnight, park visitors must be in a designated campground site or a backcountry campsite reserved by a valid permit. From time to time, the Superintendent implements area closures to protect resources. When necessary, Park Rangers will issue court citations to persons violating the terms of a closure.
