Thanksgiving Weekend Activities

Thursday 11/27/08

Gondola Rides
From 10 – 2:30 p.m., guests can take advantage of Winter Park Resort's holiday gondola rides to the mountaintop Lodge at Sunspot.  Free for ticket and pass holders or $15 per ride without, The Lodge at Sunspot provides guests with picture perfect views of the Fraser Valley and Continental Divide.  Take in the scene with a holiday latte or cocktail by the fireplace in the lounge.  The Lodge at Sunspot Mercantile will also be open for guests looking to get a head start on holiday shopping. 

Thanksgiving Dinner
Reservations for Thanksgiving dinner at Winter Park Resort are still available.  Choose from the mountaintop Lodge at Sunspot Dining Room via the gondola or the newly renovated family favorite, Five Mountain Tavern, for traditional turkey fare with all the fixings.

Friday 11/28/08 – Sunday 11/30/08

Gondola Rides, S'mores, Tours & More
Gondola rides to the mountaintop Lodge at Sunspot continue from 10 – 2:30 p.m., with added family activities including a free s'mores-making station; sightseeing snowshoe tours, and a guest appearance by Winter Park Willie –Colorado's favorite ski and ride moose.  The Provisioner will be serving lunch and snacks or you can take in the scene with a holiday latte or cocktail by the fireplace in the lounge.  The Lodge at Sunspot Mercantile will also be open for guests looking to get a head start on holiday shopping.

Indoor Climbing Wall
Head inside West Portal Station to warm up your arm on our indoor climbing wall from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.  $10 gets you three times up the wall and tickets are available at Guest Services inside the Balcony House.

Winter Park Willie
The family fun continues from 3 – 4:30 p.m. at the base.  Stop by the Zephyr Mountain Lodge fire pit outside of the Discovery Center for more quality time with Winter Park Willie.  Willie's helpers will also be on hand to spread the holiday cheer with free hot cocoa.

Saturday 11/29/07 – Sunday 11/30/08

Ski and Tele Demo Days
In addition to the mountaintop activities at The Lodge at Sunspot, guests can also take advantage of two demo days featuring the latest 08/09 alpine equipment on Saturday and Telemark equipment on Sunday.  Winter Park demo days are from 8:30 – 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and are free to adults over 18 with a valid driver's license.
