"Watching the River Run" -  We all live in a watershed, and a river runs through it. The dynamics of the river change as we move from the headwater rivulets to the powerfully full-flowing river downstream. The native aquatic plants and animals, as well as ospreys, eagles, river otters and humans depend upon the quality of the rivers for habitat, food and drinking water. Maintaining good water quality is part of the mission of the Forest Service: Caring for the Land and Serving People.
