Winter Park Resort (Base: 9,000', Top: 12,060')
6-day Forecast Discussion Updated for Wednesday, August 27, 2008PLEASE NOTE: The temperatures shown for "base" are more of a mid mountain temperature forecast. In season (October through April) we will be back to forecasting base and top temperatures for our partner resorts (Aspen-Snowmass/ Beaver Creek/ Breckenridge/ Copper Mountain/ Crested Butte/ Keystone/ Vail/ Winter Park).
OVERALL SITUATION TODAY through Friday -//> High pressure ridges in overhead, with northwest breezes and drier air filtering in. Warmer/ drier days and cooler/ drier nights are expected under mostly sunny skies. We do see a few cloud build-ups over the higher peaks, but thunderstorms should not form.
Saturday and Sunday -//> Low pressure over the Northwest US, and an increasing moist south flow causes potential for isolated and scattered showers and thunderstorms by this weekend (increasing showers/ storms next week). CM

Long range forecast / discussion...September 02 to 05-Stronger low pressure over the Northwest US, and increasing moisture from the south, allow for scattered to possibly numerous showers and thunderstorms Monday through Thursday of next week. This could go either way, with very dry conditions and west winds if low pressure sets up a bit further east. CM
