Equipment Rental FAQ


Below you'll find the answers to the most frequently asked questions regarding ski and snowboard rentals. If you have a question that isn't answered here, please do not hesitate to call the number below and we'll get you all the information you need to make sure your rental experience is a pleasant one.


How much can I save by pre-booking?
SAVE 20%* by:
(1) Booking online 48 hours in advance.
(2) Booking by phone by calling 800.729.7907 24 hours in advance.


How do I make ski or snowboard rental reservations?
(1) Reserve online at this site.
(2) Call our Guest Contact Center at 800.729.7907 to reserve equipment.


Where do I pick up my equipment?
At the time of booking, online or the call center, you will be prompted to choose a pick-up location at one of the following; West Portal Rentals, Mountain Adventure Center, The Vintage Hotel or The Jane Shop.


What time are the rental locations open until?
West Portal Rentals and The Jane Shop close at 5pm and The Mountain Adventure Center and The Vintage Hotel close at 6pm.


What do I need to pick up my rentals?
All you need is a credit card (even if the rentals have been prepaid).


Do you have shaped (parabolic) skis?
All of our skis are shaped skis.  Shaped skis are for everyone regardless of ability. Because of the shape of the skis, the skis turn with less effort and make your day more fun!


What ski length should I rent? 
Simply leave that blank and our technicians will suggest a length based on your ski ability, height and weight.


Can I trade my snowboard set in for a set of skis (or vice versa) if I want to switch?
Yes, simply return your rental to the location you picked it up at & we will be more than happy to help.  There may be a price adjustment.


Can I store my rental equipment overnight at the base of the mountain?
Yes, we have several locations to choose from.  Please ask when you are picking up your equipment.


Can I pick up my rentals the day before?
Yes, you can pick up your equipment after 3pm the day before your first rental day.


Can I pick up my skis at one location and drop them off at another?
No.


Do I need a special type of boot to snowboard?
Yes, we have a freestyle snowboard binding system that is very easy to use and requires a freestyle type of boot for the strap-in bindings. .

 

What if I have my own boots?
Simply choose the package you would like to reserve and indicate in the comments which skier has their own boots. We will then adjust the price accordingly on your confirmation.


Do you rent helmets? 
Yes, but unfortunately, we are unable to take advance reservations for them.


Do your stores have ski clothing available for rent?
No.


What if I return my skis early?
You will be refunded for the unused days. Returns must be made prior to 9 am to receive credit for that day.


What is your refund policy?
Advanced equipment rentals are paid in full and become non-refundable at the time of booking. Requests for changes in dates can be accomodated, with as much advance notice as possible.


* Reservations are recommended, especially for weekends, holidays and other busy times.
