Winter Park Resort Puts Final Touches on Village at Winter Park – Additions Include New Restaurants and Activities

Winter Park, Colo., Winter 2009/10 – Entering into its 70th season of continual operation, Winter Park Resort is excited to announce the completion of the major expansion and development of The Village at Winter Park.  This new base village, complete with a state-of-the-art Village Cabriolet,  features 20,000 square feet of new retail, rental, restaurant, and luxurious living space.  Combine that with the already existing dining and retail options operating in the Zephyr Mountain Lodge, and guests will find plenty to entertain, day or night.

While the Village at Winter Park opened just in time for holiday visitors in December of 2008, this past year has been filled with completing the interiors of the Village Lofts and tenant improvements.  The new Village at Winter Park now includes three restaurants, an old-fashioned soda fountain and creperie, expanding retail including Shirt Off My Back, 200 new condominium units in Fraser Crossing and Founders Pointe, 14 Village Lofts, a central pond, ice skating, an event gazebo, and a multi-level parking structure, all located within steps of base area chairlifts.

DINING
The Village at Winter Park has succeeded in providing additional dining options perfect for non-skiers, nightlife seekers, or those in need of a little downtime.  Last season marked the opening of two new eateries: Lime Cantina, an American/Mexican restaurant, and Cheeky Monk, a Belgian beer cafe.  This summer, Goodys opened its doors, tempting guests with delicious crepes and homemade ice cream.  New for this winter, the Back Bowl Soup Company will serve up delicious soups and gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches.  Additional dining options at Winter Park Resort include Doc's Roadhouse Grill, Starbucks, Derailer Bar, Five Mountain Tavern, Moffat Market and Coffee and Tea Market.

ACTITIVIES
As guests "fly" into the beautifully landscaped village aboard the free cabriolet, they are greeted with a variety of interactive and animated experiences, including giant music instruments, a larger-than-life Coca-Cola polar bear that is perfect for picture posing, and an outdoor ice skating pond.  Additionally, the new Winter P'arkade will open this winter, providing children a place of their own to play the latest video games.

All season long, guests will enjoy free special events and activities hosted in the gazebo, including a visit from Santa Claus, live music, and more.  Visit www.winterparkresort.com for more information on Village at Winter Park event details.

SHOPPING
Whether you are looking for the perfect souvenir or just need to grab a new hat, The Village at Winter Park is home to a wide variety of equipment and gift shops.  Both Silver Creek Outfitters and Shirt Off My Back opened their doors last season, joining our two other souvenir stores, Trail's End Mercantile and Base Camp 9000'.  Looking for new equipment, demos or clothing?  Guests will find plenty of options to choose from, including Showcase Snowboards, Rocky Mountain Eyewear, Mountain Adventure Center, and Winter Park Resort Rentals.

REAL ESTATE IN THE HEART OF THE ACTION
Now is the time to secure your piece of the action at Winter Park Resort.  Real Estate opportunities currently offer the best value for your dollar, with a few remaining condos available for purchase at historically low prices.  Just completed this summer are 14 new high-end three-bedroom lofts, starting at $669,900.  The Lofts are located right in The Village and offer guests exciting second home opportunities in the heart of the action.  A number have already sold, so act now to take advantage of the best values.  Also at the base and overlooking The Village, Fraser Crossing and Founders Pointe were completed in 2008, adding nearly 200 condos within walking distance of the lifts. Prices for the last available condos are at an all-time low, there are only a limited number of studios, one- and two-bedroom residences remaining.  For more information and up-to-date pricing, visit www.lovewinterpark.com.
