Friday Evenings Feature Extended Bike Park Hours, Free Outdoor Movie, Live Music, BBQ Dinners at The Lodge at Sunspot, and More
Winter Park Resort, Winter Park, Colo., Summer 2009 – Winter Park Resort is kicking weekends off with a new family-focused evening program, Freeride Fridays, starting July 3 and continuing through Sept. 4. Every Friday enjoy extended hours in Trestle Bike Park, a new mountain bike race series, an evening barbecue on the decks of the mountaintop restaurant - The Lodge at Sunspot, and family activities in The Village at Winter Park, including outdoor movies and live music acts.
The Village at Winter Park
Enjoy free live music by various musicians every Friday night from 4:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. in front of the Discovery Center in The Village. Acts are currently tbd and additional information will be updated at www.winterparkresort.com.
Once the sun has set behind the mountains, settle down with the family for a free outdoor movie starting at 8 p.m. The Coca-Cola Family Free Movie Night will screen a different movie each week, ranging from beloved family classics to new animated favorites.

Mountain Biking
Work up an appetite with an evening ride in Trestle Bike Park which will be open for Freeride Fridays until 7:30 p.m. Get twilight bike rental specials at Trestle Bike Park Shop with prices starting at $29.99 for a top-notch downhill bike and protective gear (available 4 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.).
Base Area Activities
After a day in the office, cut loose and have a little fun. Challenge the kids to an evening round of mini golf Friday evenings from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. for $10/round, or enjoy a scenic chairlift ride to 10,700 feet on the Zephyr Express chairlift for $15/person.
Sunspot BBQ Dinners: Unbeatable Price, Breathtaking Views
New for this summer, The Lodge at Sunspot is offering the best outdoor BBQ dinner in the valley, available Fridays, July 3 – Sept. 4. Arrive by chairlift between 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. to the two-mile high log and stone Lodge at Sunspot for a dinner experience like none other.
Enjoy amazing 360 degree views of the Continental Divide and the surrounding Fraser Valley, while dining on a delicious BBQ spread for only $24.95/adult, $19.95/children (10 and under). This all-inclusive price includes round-trip chairlift ride, live entertainment, and dinner. Entrée choices include beef rib eye steak, pork spare ribs, beef brisket, BBQ chicken and grilled portabella mushroom steak. All entrées include corn on the cob, Texas toast, ice cream dessert and choice of sides featuring potato salad, coleslaw or baked beans. All dinners also include lemonade or ice tea.
Trestle Bike Park Evening Race Series
The Winter Park Competition Center is launching a new Trestle Bike Park evening mountain bike race series designed for gravity and cross-country riders. Featuring shorter routes within Winter Park Resort's trail system, this race series is a great way for new riders, including kids, to try racing.
