Four Day Festival to Include More Age Brackets for Each Competition

- Winter Park Resort is excited to announce the dates and tentative schedule for the 2008 Colorado Freeride Mountain Bike Festival scheduled at Winter Park Resort for July 31 – August 3.  With the success of year one under the resort's belt, Crankworx Colorado will move into its second year growing from three days to four, adding more age brackets to each competition, and to make things more interesting, upping the prize money to $30,000.

"Our goal is to up the ante with this event each year," said Bob Holme Winter Park Resort's bike park and youth marketing manager. "The 2007 Crankworx Colorado proved Winter Park Resort's commitment to world class mountain biking.  Our goal with this year's event is to do it again, only bigger and better."

Age brackets will include youth age categories up to PRO divisions. The 2008 Crankworx Colorado Mountain Bike Festival will include such events as super downhill, slopestyle and cross country; times and locations for each event will be released by June 1, 2008: 

Originating in Whistler Blackcomb, Crankworx Mountain Bike Festivals feature the best freeriding mountain bikers from around the world.  2008 Crankworx Colorado confirmed athletes included such names as: Cam McCaul, Cameron Zink, Paul Basagoitia, Lluis Lacondeguy, Andreu Lacondeguy and Brian Lopes. Crankworx Colorado serves as competitor's first stop before making their way back to Whistler Blackcomb's Kokanee Crankworx 2008 for the final showdown of talent.
