Mountain Biking and Adventure Activities to Remain Open on Weekends Through September 21, 2008
WINTER PARK, COLO., August 26, 2008 – Fans of Winter Park Resort's Alpine Slide and downhill mountain bike terrain won't have to say goodbye to their favorite summer activities for another month, thanks to the resort's decision to remain open on weekends through Sept. 21, 2008. Winter Park Resort's extended summer session takes place over three weekends; Sept. 6-7; Sept. 13-14, and Sept. 20-21, and will consist of the resorts biggest draws including the Alpine Slide and adventure activities, as well as Trestle Bike Park's 28 miles of downhill mountain biking terrain. Great lodging packages with 15% savings plus two Gravity Downhill Camps sweeten the extended summer season even more.
Weekend warriors and newcomers alike will appreciate full access to the resort's Zephyr Express and Olympia Express chairlifts not to mention base area shops and restaurant. Winter Park Resort houses the largest downhill mountain bike rental fleet in Colorado and comes in second only to Whistler Blackcomb, B.C.
Women riders and junior riders can take advantage of the extended summer riding with a Gravity Goddesses Downhill Camp Sept. 6-7 and a Junior Downhill Gravity Camp Sept. 13-14. The Gravity Goddesses Downhill Camp is $495 per person and includes a two-day Kona bike rental and protective armor; two days of lunch and dinner; a wine and cheese party; and more. The Junior Downhill Gravity Camp is $310 per person, and includes a two-day lift pass, coaching, lunches and an ice-cream party.
