Winter Park Resort Announces the Addition of Two Leading Freeride Athletes to its Crankworx Colorado Mix
WINTER PARK, COLO., June 12, 2007 – Winter Park Resort announced today the addition of freeride mountain bike athletes Cameron Zink and Kyle Strait to its Crankworx Colorado Mountain Bike Competition roster. Seasoned veterans, not to mention 2006 podium placers at the original Crankworx freeride festival held in Whistler Blackcomb since 2003, Zink and Strait will be among the first group of athletes to test the trails at Winter Park Resort’s Crankworx Colorado taking place July 5-7.
“It’s athletes like Cam Zink and Kyle Strait that set competitions like Crankworx and Crankworx Colorado apart from the rest,” said Bob Holme, Winter Park Resort's Bike Park and Youth Marketing Manager. “We’re thrilled that Cam and Strait recognize our resort’s dedication to the sport of freeride mountain biking and are excited to present to them the Crankworx Colorado product.”
Showcasing Winter Park Resort as Colorado's ultimate mountain biking playground, Crankworx Colorado is one of the world's largest freeriding events and set to go big. This three day event will feature the sport’s best athletes competing in cross-country and downhill races, a Super D, Big Air and Slopestyle competition for over $30,000 in prize money. Daily spectator offerings include an outdoor expo, pro riding demonstrations, free music, and entertainment.

Entry fees as follows: Super Downhill, $35; Amateur Downhill, $50; Pro Downhill, $65; Big Air, $50; Cross Country, $50; and Slopestyle, $100.
