WINTER PARK, COLO., November 19, 2007 - Winter Park Resort has a full line-up of events this Thanksgiving weekend, aimed at providing visitors and guests with a fun and memorable holiday. Details of the weekend events are below, including Thanksgiving dinner options and new holiday celebrations.
Thursday, 11/22/07
From 10 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., guests can enjoy a holiday gondola ride to the mountaintop Lodge at Sunspot. Free for ticket and pass holders or $15 per ride without, The Lodge at Sunspot provides guests with picture perfect views of the Fraser Valley and Continental Divide. Unwind and warm up with a holiday latte or cocktail by the fireplace in the lounge. The Lodge at Sunspot Mercantile will also be open for guests looking to get a head start on holiday shopping.
Thanksgiving Dinners:
Reservations for Thanksgiving dinner at Winter Park Resort are still available. Choose from the mountaintop Lodge at Sunspot Dining Room via the gondola or the newly renovated family favorite, Five Mountain Tavern, for traditional turkey fare with all the fixin's. Reservations are still available and are strongly recommended.

Friday 11/23/07 – Sunday 11/25/07
Gondola rides to the mountaintop Lodge at Sunspot continue from 10 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., with added family activities including a free s'mores making station; sightseeing snowshoe tours, and a guest appearance by Winter Park Willie – Colorado's favorite ski and ride moose. Grab a bite in the Provisioner which will be serving up hot lunches and snacks or enjoy a holiday latte or cocktail by the fireplace in the lounge. The Lodge at Sunspot Mercantile will also be open for guests looking to get a head start on holiday shopping.
The family fun continues from 3 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. at the base of Winter Park Resort. Stop by the Zephyr Mountain Lodge fire pit outside of the Discovery Center for your chance to spend some time with Winter Park Willie. Willie's helpers will also be on hand to spread the holiday cheer with free hot cocoa.
Saturday 11/24/07 – Sunday 11/25/07: Ski and Tele Demo Days
Burn off your holiday dinner while trying out the latest equipment at our Ski and Tele Demo Fests. If you're thinking of getting new equipment this year, then you don't want to miss this event. Saturday, reps from Salomon, K2, Rossignol, and Fisher will be on hand, allowing you to take a few turns on their latest and greatest in ski technology. Free-heelers, Sunday is your chance to talk to reps from a variety of ski and boot manufacturers inviting you to try out the equipment of your choice. Winter Park demo days are from 8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and are free to adults over 18 with a valid driver's license.
