WINTER PARK, COLO., Winter 2006/07 – As the saying goes, "there's always room for improvement." And what started with a little work done to the front side of Mary Jane last season moves on to a little work done to the "backside" this season - the backside of Parsenn Bowl that is.
Investing $4.8 million in on-mountain capital improvements, Winter Park Resort enhances its guest experience through the introduction of a new triple chairlift, seven new trails, a remodeled Snoasis, an Advanced Sales Fulfillment Center, and improved snow fencing along the entrance to Belle Fourche and the backside of Parsenn Bowl – Winter Park's best kept secret stash for steep and deep skiing/riding.

"The new chairlift is a dream come true for anyone who loves to ski Vasquez Cirque and the tree-glading done around the backside of Parsenn Bowl will make a world of difference on our many powder days."
The new chairlift, named Eagle Wind with help from the Northern Arapahoe Tribe, starts at an elevation of 10,316 feet along the Vasquez Cirque egress and extends up the backside of Parsenn Bowl to 11,486 feet. Its key location not only grants skiers and riders instant access to some of Winter Park's steepest and deepest terrain but significantly shortens the amount of time it will take guests to get back from the backside of Parsenn Bowl and Vasquez Cirque – Winter Park Resort's in bounds off-piste terrain.
Within the backside of Parsenn Bowl, 76 acres have been gladed to produce seven new trails ranging from advanced to expert. These new trails and lift accessible terrain brings Winter Park Resort's total trail count to 143 and total skiable acres to approximately 3,060.
Entrances to Belle Fourche and the backside of Parsenn Bowl will also receive new snow fencing designed to improve seasonal snow pack in areas typically not sheltered by trees. 2,200 linear feet of snow fence set up in these areas and will enhance skier and rider access into some of the most coveted terrain at Winter Park Resort.
Kids taking part of Winter Park's Ski and Ride School kid's programs will love the new elbow room at Snoasis, Winter Park's mid-mountain lodge. Remolded with little ones in mind, the Winter Park Ski and Ride School lunch program will now have twice as much room dedicated to keeping them warm and well fed during their lunch break.
And when the kids are happy, the parents are event happier! Now parents have another reason to smile the Winter Park Ski and Ride School Advanced Sales Fulfillment Center located at the base of West Portal Station. Here, parents can fulfill any prearranged lift ticket and lesson. The center's new location is conveniently located on the ground floor of West Portal Station and will be open seven days a week.
Located just 67 miles outside of Denver, Winter Park Resort is the closest major destination resort to Denver International Airport and the only major ski area accessed by The Ski Train. With over 30 feet of snow last season, Winter Park Resort offers guests all the "musts" about great skiing and riding without all the fuss.
