Work in Winter Park

During our winter operations, we hire international workers from all over the world. Such an international blend offers a great experience for our guests and staff alike!

Unfortunately, we are no longer taking winter 2009/2010 H2B extension applications. 

However, if you are a student interested in working abroad for the 2009/2010 winter season on a J1 Visa, please contact a Student Work and Travel Program. Here is additional international information:


Visa Options (Summer)

There is one type of work authorization that you can consider in order to work as a seasonal employee with Winter Park Resort:

  • J-1 Work and Travel Visa (student)
  • H-2B Visa Extensions, sponsored by Winter Park (unfortunately, we are no longer taking H2B extension applications)

Visa Information for International Applicants

H2B VISA J-1 VISA
ELIGIBILITY

Any individual who meets job requirements, has good work references, and is currently within the United States on an H2B Visa.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must have a valid passport that does not expire before the ski season has ended.

Must be a University Student affiliated with a Student Work and Travel Program.

VISA RESTRICTIONS

The H2B is not a guaranteed work visa.
It is subject to State, INS (Immigration and Naturalization Services) and Consulate/Embassy approvals.

Employees on this visa are allowed to work for the sponsor employer only and in the job position they are hired in – i.e. lift operator, only.

If you employment is terminated, you will be required to leave the United States.

You must obtain your work visa through a Student Work and Travel Program, not Winter Park Resort.

J-1 Visa holders are able to work two jobs.

VISA DATES

We are currently accepting H2B applicants for the 09/10 winter season. If you are currently within the United States are are interested in applying for an extension for the 09/10 winter season, we expect the dates of required availability to be:

Unfortunately, we are no longer taking H2B extension applications for the 09/10 winter season. Please keep us in mind for future employment.

We are currently accepting J1 applicants for our summer season.

If you are interested in working for the 2009 summer season, the dates of required availability are:

Applicant must be available for 3-month period from June 13 - September 7, 2009

If you are interested in working the 09/10 winter season, the dates of required availability are:

Must be available for 4-month period with an end date no earlier than March 28, 2010

COST

Winter Park Resort covers the cost of visa extension processing with the Department of Labor and the INS.

Winter Park Resort does not cover any fees associated with the cost of your travel to Winter Park.

Varies depending upon cost of Student Work and Travel Program.

Winter Park Resort does not cover any expenses associated with these programs.
