The first step for young freestyle skiers who want to rip it up in the bumps and catch big air. The Winter Park Freestyle Devo Team is the first step in the development pyramid for youth freestyle competitors. Freestyle Devo Team is the place for Park Sharks looking for more ski time with a mogul focus and time training new school and upright aerials. The coaches spend the early part of the season teaching the basic skills of all-terrain skiing all over the mountain. Then the skiers will take their skills into the more demanding mogul terrain of Mary Jane, learning proper technique and tactics for competitive mogul skiing. Finishing the package is aerial training, which takes place on our freestyle jump site and in the terrain parks. The program is offered on Saturdays or Sundays starting December 1, 2007

For freestyle competitors seeking top level coaching with a focus on mogul fundamentals and a flair for air. The Winter Park Junior Freestyle Team is the second step in the development pyramid for freestyle athletes. Training takes place both days each weekend and over Christmas break. The Junior Team is a competitive program emphasizing the development of the technical skills necessary to excel in the various disciplines of freestyle skiing. Building a strong technical base for mogul skiing will allow the skiers to perform at their best in the mogul arena. Upright and new school aerial training will be incorporated into their training regimen for a total freestyle package. State of the art training technology in conditioning, sport psychology, video analysis, goal setting and planning assist each athlete on the road to excellence. Skiers will be grouped according to ability and work with a primary coach throughout the season. This is a competitive program and athletes must be willing to put forth a great deal of commitment and motivation to attain their personal best. Athletes will compete in the Rocky Mountain Freestyle Series if they are thirteen or older and in the Rocky Mountain Devo Mogul Series if they are twelve or younger.

A competitive program for the senior athlete on the fast track. The Freestyle Senior Team provides three days of training each week during the ski season for freestyle athletes 19 and older. The Sr. Team is designed to meet the needs of the high school graduate actively pursuing a higher level of performance in competitive freestyle skiing. This team trains primarily on weekends and Fridays on competition weeks. Wednesday afternoon aerial training is also available to Sr. Team athletes. This flexible scheduling provides numerous training opportunities for athlete balancing school and work. The team takes full advantage of its time on snow by blending fundamental skills, intense mogul training, with Full-Time Team Winter Park athletes. Motivation and dedication are a must to be successful in this program. Sr. Team athletes also spend plenty of time skiing the whole mountain, especially on powder days! These athletes are encouraged to participate in dry land and weightlifting sessions prior to the season. Sr. Team athletes compete in the Rocky Mountain Freestyle Series and, as qualified, National and International freestyle competitions. Summer training camps are available to further the individuals skiing goals.

A place where dedicated athletes work to achieve their highest goals in freestyle skiing, athletics, and life. Full-Time Team Winter Park is an intensive, year-round training program for the freestyle competitor with a full commitment toward reaching their highest goals in competitive skiing. Skiers train six days a week during the ski season. During the off-season, athletes participate in several summer camps and projects while following a physical training program designed to prepare them for success during the ski season. A highly experienced coaching staff teaches the most modern techniques of mogul skiing and aerials using the latest in video technology to help the athletes improve. Off-snow sessions include mental skills training and physical conditioning. Full-Time Team Winter Park has within the last several years developed four current U.S. Ski Team athletes, five Olympians, two who were medallists, and numerous Colorado Ski Country USA All-Star Athletes.

For the innovative skier seeking opportunities to take on the demands of "new school" and terrain parks. Team Freeride is an innovative program for the athletic skier looking to improve their skills in a variety of arenas. This is a one-day competitive program designed for the all around skier specializing in terrain park and freestyle skiing. The majority of training takes place in the various terrain parks here at Winter Park with occasional free skiing and mogul skiing sessions. Training for Team Freeride is on Saturdays. Our coaching philosophy with this team is that to excel in terrain parks, the skiers must be strong all-mountain skiers. Team Freeride balances fundamental freestyle / freeride training with directed free skiing all over the mountain. Athletes will then progress to new school aerials in half-pipe, terrain parks, aerial sites and skiercross. Helmets are required during all aerial training sessions and in skiercross. Summer training camps are available to further the individual's training goals.

Team Extreme is a program targeted mainly at the motivated racer in the Grand County School district looking to train extra days, though the program is open to any interested skier 14 and older. Two-day skiers who show a strong commitment to rising to the next level should join this program. Team Extreme athletes will often train with Full-Time Team Winter Park, and will be coached by the Head Mogul Coach. This team will get many additional training opportunities on Fridays. Athletes will also work to improve their skills off-snow in the areas of physical conditioning and sports psychology. Special training camps during school breaks are arranged and are included in the program fees.
