Brian is going into his sixth year coaching at Winter Park and he is the perfect leader for the weekend ability class group. He's a former high scool ski coach and junior race coordinator for a ski area in Minnesota. Don't expect him to move back to the flatlands, he loves it here! Brian is an athlete favorite, he has great skill in making his athletes feel comfortable to take on new challenges. They also like that he is always having fun on the hill.  Brian is a PSIA Level 2 instructor and Level 200 USSA coach.

Fred Nolting Lead Echo Mountain Coach/J3 & J4 Coach
Coach Fred Nolting photo Fred is the veteran of the staff, with twenty five years of coaching at Winter Park. Growing up just outside of Chicago didn't give him much of a chance to ski as a kid, but when he came out to Denver University on a football scholarship and they dropped their football program a year later, Fred got hooked on skiing. For years Fred coached the J5's at Winter Park and was widely regarded as one of the most successful J5 coaches in the country. Fred's knack for keeping his racers in line and working hard without them even knowing it because they're having so much fun comes from Fred's passion for skiing that spreads to all he coaches. Fred's groups never come in until the lifts close and he's usually there with them.

Steve Gordon Head J4 Coach
Steve Gordon "Gordo" is back again, marking over twenty years coaching with a focus on the J4's. His experience and his emphasis of the fundamentals is one of the reasons there are so many Winter Park alumni enjoying success at the national and international level today.

Parker Thomson Head J5 Coach
Coach Parker Thomson photo Parker runs high on enthusiasm - a must for a J5 coach. Parker is a PSIA Level 3 instructor and a USSA Level 200 coach, and spent six seasons as a NASTAR pacesetter. The combination is ideal for his racers. They get a solid technical base sprinkled in with just the right amount of "go fast" advice.  Parker was named the Comp Center's coach of the year in 2006!

More than just supporting staff:
Rick Foster - J4's
Tegan Davis - J5's
John Cleaver - Sunday J4's
Marek Szwebel - sub coach
