To ensure that our supply base can meet the stringent requirements that the nature of our business requires, we will continuously solicit and evaluate the offerings of our supply market and provide equal opportunity for qualified suppliers to win Winter Park Resort business.

Winter Park Resort gives Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprises an opportunity to compete with all other suppliers in the competitive marketplace. Our supplier selection policy is based on the competitiveness of a supplier offering and at no time will discriminate against a business based on its minority status. In order to ensure that MWBE’s are given an equal opportunity to work with Winter Park Resort, we continually strive to identify and develop the MWBE’s that can provide us with the quality of products and services our business demands.

Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) or Women Business Enterprise (WBE) is a company that is 51% owned, managed and controlled by one or more minority (Black American, Hispanic American, Native American or Asian American) persons or one or more Caucasian women.

Winter Park Resort uses definitions as developed by the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) in order to properly identify minority-owned businesses.

Minority Group Member – An individual who is at least one-quarter or 25% minimum of the following ethnic classification shall be recognized as a minority member of that group.

African American – A U.S. citizen having origins in any of the black racial groups of Africa.

Asian-Indian – A U.S. citizen whose origins are from India, Pakistan, or Bangladesh.

Asian-Pacific – A U.S. citizen whose origins are from Japan, China, Taiwan, Korea, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, the Philippines, Samoa, Guam, the U.S. Trust Territories the Pacific or the Northern Marianas.

Hispanic – A U.S. citizen of true-born Hispanic heritage, from the Spanish-speaking areas of Latin America or the following regions: Mexico, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean Basin only.

Native American – A person who is an American Indian, Eskimo, Aleut or Native Hawaiian, and regarded as such by the community of which that person claims to be apart. Native Americans must be documented members of a North American tribe, band or otherwise organized group of native people who are indigenous to the continental United States and proof can be provided through a Native American Blood Degree Certificate (i.e., tribal registry, letter, or tribal roll register number).

Non-minority Woman – A U.S. female citizen who is not a member of any of the previously described minority classifications.

If you are affiliated with a MWBE and you are interested in joining the Winter Park Resort supplier network, we invite you to tell us about your company. Please complete the Winter Park Resort Minority and Women-Owned Supplier Information Form. When sending the form to us, feel free to attach additional pages or brochures that tell us more about your company's products or services. You might also include a page that describes how your company's products or services fit at Winter Park Resort. Please return the completed form to the address, fax number, or e-mail address listed on the form.

Upon receipt, all forms will be evaluated by Winter Park Resort's purchasing department. If it is determined that we can utilize the product or service your company provides, we will contact you. If it is determined that we may not need what your company provides at the current time, we will enter your company information into our MWBE database for future reference and/or pass your company information on to other suppliers who may have an immediate need for your company's offerings.
